Talk about getting kicked when you're down.
Submitted by admin on Mon, 10/05/2009 - 22:20Russia, China, Japan and France are secretly trying to replace the dollar with a basket of currency to trade in oil. With friends like these who needs enemas? This however shouldn't be called a secret, since the French have been eyeballing our currency strength for years, waiting for the moment to pull the rug out from under us.

Texas utilities reject Federal money due to the high price tag
Submitted by admin on Wed, 09/30/2009 - 11:40Texas Utilities have given the fed the long finger in it's rejection of political requirements. These include the 'Buy America' clause and wage standards. While these requirements are typically politically divisive, Texas is fortunately able to sidestep much of the labor issues due to the lack of Union presence. The 'Buy America' clause could have been a worthy concept to remove the unfair advantage of not having to pay corporate tax that many foreign businesses are not burdened with.

Why We Must Tread Lightly with China Trade
Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/24/2009 - 11:56This is a rarely discussed topic, but vitally important. "China accounts for 97% of rare earth metal production", which is frightening for many reasons. Mostly, we are teetering on the edge of a trade war with China. If this escalates, and China discontinues exports to the US, our high tech production will stop. If high tech production stops, all production stops. What kind of trouble will we be then?
This makes me realize that we must restart our space program to search for industrial material while we still can afford it. And quickly too.
